My name is Emma and I am the owner of 'New Dawn - Cornwall'.
I am loyal, trustworthy, fun and opening up my heart and home to provide dogs a loving, home from home environment to either spend an hour out walking with me, or come and have their own holiday for a day, a week or longer, while their owners are away or working.
The business name was created from my middle name 'Dawn', which also features in my house name 'Glynndawny' and represents a very new chapter in my life.
Before setting up my own business, I had worked for 14 years at Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service; as the Web and Social Media Advisor.
My life experiences and the Covid-19 pandemic made me re-evaluate my priorities and in February 2022, I decided to leave the Fire Service and pursue a career I had only ever dreamed about. I took evening classes to teach myself the business skills I needed to go self employed and in June 2022, New Dawn - Cornwall was born.
Initially New Dawn started as a dog walking service but following a successful (and lengthy!) license application to Cornwall Council, I was successfully able to expand to provide day care and a home boarding service for clients dogs.
My love for dogs started at a very young age when I took on the responsibility to walk my elderly neighbours dog for free, when I was a child. As soon as I had my own home, I adopted a poorly neglected Greyhound from Greyhounds 4 U. One Greyhound became two and then before I knew it, I'd adopted three and the rest is history because since they've crossed to Rainbow's Bridge, two more dogs have since adopted me - Charlie; a Whippet X Collie and Obi; a whippet - you can meet them both further below.
